Aim of the Course:

To enable candidates to deliver the safe application of an automated external defibrillation (AED)

Syllabus:

Successfully demonstrate effectively the procedure for CPR

Demonstrate effectively the procedure for using an AED as a team leader for:

- A casualty with shock indicated

- a casualty with no shock indicated

- An unknown Scenario

-Demonstrate effectively the procedure for using an AED as a single operator

Assessment:

Tutor assessed on the practical skills in the syllabus

Validity of Award:

24 months with the requirement of an annual online refresher

Revalidation:

Complete the "basic life support & AED annual online refresher available at:

www.trainsta.co.uk or a tutor update
