Paediatric Emergency First Aid Award 

Aim of the Course:

 

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Award aims to give the candidate knowledge and assess them on their ability to deal with emergency situations, how to recognise and respond to serious medical conditions and series injuries.

 

Pre-Requisites:

 

Be 16 yeas of age or older

CPR

 

 

Choking

 

 

Meningitis

 

 

Head and Spinal Injuries

 

 

Anaphylaxis

 

 

Asthma

 

Mandatory Units:

 

Emergency Paediatric First Aid

 

Assessment Criteria:

 

Continual assessment by the course tutor on practical skills 

 

 Pass marks: Multiple cholce paper:
• Emergency Paediatric First Aid: 4 / 6

 

 

All learning outcomes and assessment criteria in the units must be achieved in order for the learner to be deemed competent and pass the qualification

Demonstrate the ability to carry out CPR on a child and infant manikin
