Aim of the course:
The STA Level 2 CIMPSA Approved Certificate in Teaching Swimming qualifies learners to teach non-swimmers through to advanced participants
Pre-Requisites:
Be 16 years of age
Hold the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming (Please note that the Swim England Level 1 Award in Aquatic Teaching is not an acceptable entry requirement)
Validity of Award
This qualification does not expire
Length of Course
The recommended contact hours for this qualification are 24 hours which includes direct teaching and assessing
The rest of the guided learning hours are taken from the STA Award in Teaching Swimming.
The qualification may be ran over 3 days

122 Hours
Assessment Criteria:
The STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming covers advanced participants and advanced swimming skills and is tutor assessed through the completion of

schemes of work x2 ,

lesson plans x4 ,

evaluation form x1

Tutor assessed practical teaching.
In addition to this there is a final end course theory multiple-choice question assessment paperx2 and an 30 minute external assessment of practical teaching to 4 participants
